Dermadoctor KP Duty Body Scrub Review

I've had KP since my early teens (I'm now 31) and have watched the bumps spread from my arms to back and hips over the years. I hate wearing anything that exposes my bumpy skin which is difficult for a woman. I started using this product a couple of months ago along with the lotion and have been thrilled with the results. I don't think my skin will ever be flawless, but it has greatly improved. Even my husband has noticed how soft my arms feel. He uses the scrub in the shower before shaving and has noticed fewer ingrown hairs and less acne. We both love this scrub. For those with KP, I recommend using the scrub 3 times a week and the lotion as often as possible.

Medical-quality exfoliation requires more than scrubbing. Dry skin, flaky patches and chicken skin bumps are held together by bonds that physical exfoliation alone can't break. KP Duty Body Scrub delivers serious medi-exfoliation for deeper, more thorough results. This dual action chemical + physical exfoliator blends the best of a chemical peel and microdermabrasion into a single, easy to use treatment. Dermatologist-recommended chemical exfoliants dissolve the glue that cements epidermal cells together. Smooth, non-abrasive synthetic beads lift away dead skin cells. Skin is resurfaced and retexturized; soft, smooth, and radiant. Enhanced exfoliation also helps prepare skin for self tanning and post-bathing treatments (including body acne, keratosis pilaris, shaving bumps, ingrown hairs and bleaching). KP Duty Body Scrub is infused with green tea and willow bark - the ideal antidote to irritation and redness typically associated with routine in-office exfoliation. Ideal for most skin types. Not recommended for ultra sensitive skin. This exclusive, medically formulated and tested line of gentle and effective skin care solutions is developed by leading dermatologist, Audrey Kunin, M.D.Just what the skin doctor ordered.®Dermatologist Tested & ApprovedAllergy Tested, Non Irritating, Non Comedogenic, Fragrance Free, Dye Free, No Animal TestingMade in USA

I really hope this product works well because the smell is awful. It will make your eyes water and nose burn. I have only used once so far and dread using it again. I just hope it will provide some results!!

Enzymatic Therapy Derma Klear Soap Review

Enzymatic Therapy Derma Klear Soap

I had been looking for a replacement for a different brand of sulfur soap (Grandpa's Thylox), despite the fact that it works well, simply because no local stores carry it. I found this Derma-Klear sulfur soap at the co-op a few months ago, and it's been great.
I use this soap only at night, for two reasons: its scent is *very* strong and lingers a bit; and the active ingredient concentration (5% sulfur) is higher than in most other sulfur soaps (3%), which I find dries out my skin if I use it more than once per day. I also find it to be drying on my hands (esp. knuckles) during the winter and must apply hand lotion afterwards.
I have also used this bar in the shower, and it has significantly improved the keratosis pilaris on my upper arms and started to eliminate body acne as well. The reason that sulfur soap knocks out early-forming blemishes and KP is that sulfur is a keratolytic, meaning it softens keratin. Keratin is a fibrous protein (the hard, waxy plug) that clogs pores, both in acne and KP.
This bar smells quite strongly of sulfur; so if that bothers you, you may want to opt for a different brand of sulfur soap (Grandpa's Thylox is less odiferous but still packs a nice punch). If, like me, you've tried the gamut of acne products and don't really care how it smells as long as it works, you likely won't have a problem with it.
The last feature that I appreciate is this soap's natural (and rather short) ingredient list. Besides sulfur, it contains only the following: Aloe Vera, Centella, Chamomile, 18-Beta-Glycyrrhetinic Acid, Hawthorn, Rosemary, Sage, and TetraSodium EDTA in a fragrance-free natural soap base. It's far more natural than most other sulfur soap brands. As long as you don't mind the smell, Derma-Klear's sulfur soap can be a potent weapon in your arsenal against your body's hyperkeratinization!
