I've used all the recongnizable brands when it came to creams/ointments/gels for treating pimples -- Neutrogena, Clearasil, Clean & Clear. I was never really satisfied with any of them. They often caused my sensitive skin to get red, itchy, or even greasy over time. I saw this in a store and thought 'Acnefree'? I hadn't heard of that brand before. The box was very convincing though, so I tried it out. It worked out way better than I had imagined! First off, I love that it's a peroxide gel! You never see those at these prices! Gels mean it will go on completely clear with no nasty residue like some creams. This gel also has a 'three in one' treatment combining salicylic acid AND benzoyl peroxide. Triclosan, a antibacterial, is also added for extra measure. The active drug is the peroxide, and it's only 2%, which is just as effective as the 10% (which feels like overkill). No wonder it's so effective!
I don't have chronic acne, I just have breakouts from time to time, and I'm so happy I found this gel. Pimples would dry out in just days (along with anti-blemish face cleansers). I haven't had a bad reaction to it yet. The gel has a very nice fragrance to it too. Try it out!
