(More customer reviews)I use this spot gel on my occasional, mild to moderate acne and it really does diminish the appearance and pain of any emerging zits I get. It works especially well overnight when the skin is more relaxed. From personal experience, however, I don't recommend using such salicylic acid acne gels on large areas of skin over lengthy periods of time. In the past, it worked so well for me that I thought, "Why not use it as an everyday acne treatment to prevent acne? I could use this for my entire T-zone area!" How foolish that turned out to be, because I ended up with irritated skin and more acne where there formerly was not any. After all, it is called a "spot gel" for a reason. With that said, a small dab used directly on a zit will suffice.
I feel the need to add a disclaimer here. As one of the other reviewers stated, each person reacts differently to different remedies, so it is advisable to try a slight amount first. I personally have combination type skin, and this gel does not "burn" nor even dry my skin. Also, the very first review on this gel sounds suspiciously extreme.
