(More customer reviews)My cosmetic surgeon recommended Kelo-cote after my breast reduction surgery two years ago. It was not available in stores at the time, so I ordered direct from the manufacturer. The key is to apply a thin coat. If it's not drying, you're using too much. It's flexible and virtually unnoticable. Due to bad genes, I scar easily. Kelo-cote helped the scars flatten quite quickly and reduced the redness dramatically; they are hardly noticable.
I recently had abdominal surgery (yes, a tummy tuck) and opted to use a silicone strip, which I thought would have the benefit of cushioning the somewhat tender areas above my hip bones. I'm ordering more Kelo-cote today. The strips just don't work as well at healing...though I will keep the strip to wear with my low rise jeans which hit me right at the incision line. Ouch!
