(More customer reviews)I have had acne since I was a teenager and I am in my 40's now. Only in the last ten years have I seen more aggressive over-the-counter medications for moderate acne. I have tried all of them because that is what you have to do. You have to figure out what works best for your skin type. I used Proactiv which is just too expensive for what little you get. Plus the shipping and handling adds to the cost. Then there is the joining the club thing. What if you just want to try the item out once? If it doesn't work out you have to go through the hassle of canceling the your membership, which I have heard from some that canceling can be a pain. AcneFree is a little weak, but is effective for some and you can go to any store and buy it. I tried it and, like I said, I found it to be weak. One day I was getting some Dr. Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion and noticed that they had an acne kit. Now, let me say from the out that anything Dr. Palmer's makes I am willing to try. As an African American woman I have found this company's products to be effective and cost efficient. I bought the kit for $19.97 at Wal-Mart which I thought was a pretty good deal compared to the $30.00 and $40.00 products one usually finds for acne. That was the BEST $19.97 I have EVER spent. The kit contains most everything a person would need to deal with acne. Cleanser, salicylic acid oil-free moisturizer, benzoyl peroxide spot treatment, and acne mark fade cream. The only thing it doesn't have is a toner. I personally like a good toner, or astringent. Within two weeks my acne was under control. It's that simple. I have been using it for over four months now and have not had a serious break-out since I started using it. Again, it is that simple. Now for the negative side. For some reason this product has become hard to find in my area. Wal-Mart has stopped carrying it and I have looked at several other drug stores and am having a very hard time finding it. The limited availability led me to Amazon which is where I made my last purchase of the product. Hopefully I can continue to find it there because it is TOTALLY worth it. The vendor that I bought it from had it to me very quickly and I was very satisfied. Again, a person must experiment with acne treatments because no two people are the same and there are different results for different people. But, this acne kit is worth a try in my opinion. I don't just think its for African Americans either. I think a lot of other ethnicities can use it as well. Good luck and give it a try. You might just be very impressed, as I was with the results.
